Blocks
Blocks are good for your structural purposes when building and can be more expensive than bricks. Blocks are good if you are looking at painting or rendering but can be bought already painted. You can choose from a range of colours and styles ie. rough or smooth faces, but if you are looking at painting or rendering yourself than you would go for the standard grey block.
Prices range from under $1.00 per unit for a 100mm size and goes up from there to about $5.00 for a 300mm. Your coloured and feature faces range from $1.30 to $5.00.
Bricks
Bricks are more economical and low maintenance if you are looking for something that you don't have to paint or render but are not as structurally sound and you require extra support. Once again with a large colour and face range, this can be a cheaper option.
Bricks range in price from $400.00 per thousand bricks to $2300.00.
A standard size house will use up to approximately 6000 bricks.
