If you are going to to a bit of restoring or renovating at home you will at some stage be using some type of sandpaper with which to bring back to life an old piece of furniture or even just to sand back a surface ready for painting or staining.
The big question is that you have to know what type of grit you will need your sandpaper to have for a particular job. Read on, as we will tell you which job each grit can do.
Cutting back: 40-60 grit - Very Coarse/Coarse
Blending and Shaping: 80-120 grit - Medium
Blending and Shaping: 150-180 grit - Fine
Finishing: 220-280 grit - Very fine
Finishing: 320-1200 grit - Extra/Ultra fine
