- Practically all portable tools
are very efficient users of electricity. Trigger
switches ensure that the unit is only used when needed; but don't overload the
tool by prolonged constant use.
- Be sure your television, radio and CD player are off when no one is watching or
listening.
- Weather stripping
on doors and windows is a sound investment to help maintain
temperature control on heaters and air conditioners.
- Exterior automatic lights
fitted with sensors detect people coming within a
predetermined range and switch on and off at adjustable levels.
- Interior automatic lights
- infra-red and movement control devices sense the entry of a
person into a room. They switch the room light on and it remains in until the person leaves
the area. This saves wasted energy switching lights on and off when not required.
- Time switches
can be preset to switch on/off appliances of lights to operate more
effectively eg. security lights, swimming pool filters etc.
- Photo electric switches
automatically switch lights on when the light level falls,
and switches them off when light level rises eg. night time/day time.
- Extra low voltage lighting
can be used for security/decoration in exterior applications.
Eight 12 watt lamps (low voltage) cab adequately illuminate the front or rear area of the home
(staggered and installed over a large area), and is more energy efficient than using the normal
150 watt floodlight.
