Bruce Perrott's Nursery at Enoggera conduct fortnightly Free Garden Information Talks at their nursery. The talks are on Saturday mornings, between 10 am and 12 noon (unless otherwise noted) and all are welcome. Contact the nursery for details and further information.

Saturday March 9th, 2002 - Gardening for Beginners - with Adam Blazak
have you ever wondered how to prepare soil for planting seedlings, shrubs and trees?. How to use lime, gypsum, fertiliser etc. Those who need help from the beginning, this is for you.
 
Saturday March 23rd, 2002 - Fruit Trees and Your Soil
Patrick Nugent from Borth Coast edible Garden Srvice will show you how to grow fruit trees and edible plants using organic and permaculture principles
Saturday April 6th, 2002 - Growning Ferns
Stephen Walters is the manager of one of Queensland's oldest and largest fern growers. He will show you how to care for the many varieties of these lush plants using organic and permaculture principles.
 
Saturday April 20th, 2002 - Habitat Regeneration with Local Natives
Native expert Barbara Tealby from Barb's trees will help you identify and select the correct species for flora regeneration and fauna habitat for our area.
 
Saturday May 4th, 2002 - Designing your Garden
Tde Maguire of Camouflage Designs will discuss the principles of good garden design and the benefits of planning, and help you with your plant selection.
 
Saturday May 18th, 2002 - Tropical Rhododendrons
Barry PAget, Grovely TAFE college lecturer and vireya grower, will show you how to grow these exotci tropical flowers.
 
Saturday June 1st, 2002 - Bamboo
Durnford Dart who owns and operates a retail and wholesale bamboo nursery will tell you all you will ever want to know about the tallest grasses in the world - Bamboo
 
Saturday June 15th, 2002 - Bush Tucker Food
Janet Gorst works for the DPI and Griffith University teaching plant science and tissue culture and is responsible for the snack track at Redcliffe Heritage Gardens.
 
Saturday June 29-30th, 2002 - Pruning Roses, Fruit Trees, Grapes and Citrus
Bruce Perrott's staff member Barbara Beerling will demonstrate the correct way to prune for maximum flowers and fruit. Please note that the lectures are on Saturday and Sunday morning.
 
July 13th-14th, 2002 (all day, both days) - Bruce Perrott's Annual Rose Show
Members of the Qld Rose Society and Qld Heritage Rose Society will be available to answer all your rose questions. Hundreds of roses on display both days. Informal group discussions throughout both days by these knowledgeable rose growers.
 
All Day Sat & Sun July 27-28th, 2002 (all day, both days) -
Barry Botham and members of the Qld Camellia Society will answer your questions on any camellia problems. Talk Saturday only. Flowers on display both days.
 
Saturday August 10th, 2002 - Herbs
Wendy Burke who has a wholesale nursery called Flavours and Herbs will show you how to grow Asian herbs and vegetables and the interesting ways they can be used.
 
Sunday August 18th, 2002 - Growing Olives
Ray and Delphine Archer from Olives Australia have supplied over four million olive trees throughout Australia for the olive industry. Find out how you can grow your own.
 
Saturday August 24th, 2002 - Cacti and Succulents
Doug Snell from the Succulent Society will educate you on the uses of these drought tolerant plants in your garden. They make excellent pot plants.
 
Saturday September 7th, 2002 - Tropical Fruit Growing in Queensland
Learn about some of the more unusual fruits with Peter young of Birdwood Nursery.
 
Saturday September 21st, 2002 - Butterflies in your Garden
Frank Schwenke and Helen only grow butterfly attracting plants in their garden.
 
Saturday October 5th, 2002 - Keeping Chooks in your Backyard
Satya Smith will teach you how to care for poultry in your backyard and the usuage of the chicken tractor suitable to house your chickens.
 
Saturday October 19th, 2002 - Rana Frog Day - Restoring Australian Native Amphibia
Sylvia Pitt's talk will focus on how to encourage native frogs to your backyard. Frogs will be on display. Club members will be promoting and answering questions about keeping frogs. Books on sale.
 
Saturday November 2nd, 2002 - Heritage Roses in South East QLD
Bruce Perrott's staff member Barbara beerling will encourage the use of Heritage Roses in your landscaping. Flowers will be on display.
 
Saturday November 16th, 2002 - Water Plants
Tony Debrincat from Suncoast Water Gardens will show you how to grow and care for water plants in your water feature garden.
 
Saturday November 30th, 2002 - Carnivorous Plants
Learn about these fascinating insect eating plants with expert David martin.
