Cool or Cosy is ceiling insulation made from recycled paper, treated with fire
retarding, and insect resisting chemicals. Shredded newsprint is treated with
borax and boric acid, creating a fluffy wool-like substance with exceptional
thermal insulating properties. The effect of the treatment is permanent, preventing
any form of chemical leaching. Cool or Cosy is non-hazardous, and is quite suitable
for people suffering allergies or asthma. Cool or Cosy does not absorb moisture,
eliminating problems such as black mould on ceilings by starving the fungus
of dampness required for it's growth.
Cool in Summer (up to 8 degrees) - Cosy in Winter (warmer, save up to 40% on fuel bills).
Another advantage of Cool or Cosy is its sound inhibiting quality, reducing noise by up to 9dB's.
Fat Batts, made from pure glass, have no odour, and contain no chemicals that
can leach out. Resistant to fungi and bacteria, Fat Batts contain no asbestos
or cellulose fibre.
Fat Batts are inexpensive, maintenance free, reduce the energy cost and are guaranteed for the life of your home. Keeping you comfortable all year round by controlling heat flow (by trapping heat energy between glass fibres). Insulating your home helps reduce the energy consumption, which in turn helps reduce global warming. Correct installation of Fat Batts can effectively reduce your heating and cooling energy costs by up to a massive 50% - i.e. recover the cost of Fat Bats in 2-4 years!
A popular DIY home insulation system. Fast and easy to install in virtually any type of building.
Aluminium Concertina Foil Batts are an Australian invented, owned and manufactured
product developed as an alternative to fibreglass batts.
Winner of the 1995 Australian Energy Award, Foil Batts are the radiant heat barrier for ceilings, roofs, walls and floors providing a thermal envelope that will not store heat or moisture and is the perfect insulation to keep the summer heat out and the winter warmth in.
Concertina Foil Batts eliminates radiant heat. For instance, in summer the ground floor of a two storey home is much cooler than upstairs, the reason being that radiant heat is nonexistent because it has been broken by the upper floor. Foil Batts laid on top of the ceiling, between timbers stops 97% of radiant heat transfer.
Foil Batts do not cover any roof or ceiling timbers maintaining clear access for electrical services, pest inspection and general safety whilst in the roof space.
Cost effective and easy to install DIY insulation.
