The easiest way to explain Floetrol is to say that it does for water based paint what Penetrol does for oil paint. Acrylics apply easier than oil paint but often lack flow and levelling properties, resulting in streaks and marks from roller or brush pressure requiring extra costs.
Floetrol solves the problem by slowing the initial setting of the paint film adding flow to the paint. Levelling is improved and lap - and brush marks are eliminated. When paint turns thick on hot days adding water only makes it worse and also reduces paint quality. Floetrol makes paint creamier and easier to work with, giving a more even finish.
It does not evaporate and actually makes more paint. 1 litre of Floetrol and 4 litres of Acrylic makes 5 litres of quality paint and saves money as Floetrol costs less than paint.
